MDMK chief Vaiko released

New Delhi: MDMK chief Vaiko, who was arrested on charges of sedition on October 23, has been released.

Vaiko was arrested for allegedly making highly inflammatory speeches in support of the LTTE.

At a public meeting in Chennai Vaiko had said that a separate Tamil Eelam under the leadership of LTTE chief Prabhakaran would soon come into existence in Sri Lanka.

He also said that help to Sri Lanka would jeopardise India's own unity and integrity and that he would be ready to take up arms and fight for the Tamils in the island nation.
