New Delhi: After meeting People's Demcratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti in Srinagar, senior BJP leader Ram Madhav today expressed hope that the alliance will continue and his party is committed to the Agenda of Alliance.

Admitting that he met Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday about government formation, Mr Madhav said, "Both feel that this government should continue".

He, however, refused to give a time frame for the government formation. Sources said the talks may take final shape after Ms Mufti, who is a lawmaker from Anantnag, visits Delhi to take part in the budget session.

The Agenda of Alliance was working very well, Mr Madhav told reporters.

"We have told her that we should move ahead on that basis. Some points can be discussed how to move ahead on a time line basis," he added. "There will be no dilution of the Common Minimum Programme, nor any new addition. It is a very comprehensive document for the development and good governance of Jammu and Kashmir."

He said discussions will be held at all levels, with leaders and ministers, "PDP leaders will come to Delhi and talk. We are positive".

He dismissed reports that the Centre was ready to compromise on AFPSA, saying that all these issues have been addressed in the agenda of alliance. He also said that he would discuss with party leaders and ministers indicating that the Bjp is ready to consider some specific demands related to the state.

The senior BJP leader had been on a hush-hush visit to the state capital to iron out differences with the PDP, with which it had ruled the state for 10 months.

But questions had been raised over the fate of the alliance after the death of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on January 7.

His daughter Ms Mufti, who was expected to succeed him as the Chief Minister, refused to take over and asked the BJP for written assurances that the Agenda of Alliance will be adhered to. The state has been under President's Rule since January 8.
