Thiruvananthapuram:
A mild tremor, measuring 3.4 on Richter scale, was experienced in most parts of the city and suburban areas for a few seconds on Friday.
Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said "it was an earth quake of slight intensity" that occurred at 1645 hrs.
The epicentre of the tremor was about 18 km from here, an IMD official said.
People from different parts of the city and outskirts frantically called police and said they felt vibrations with windows rattling and furniture shaking.
No damage to property or injury was reported from any parts of the city, police said.
