Guwahati: A mild tremor today shook parts of Assam but there was no report of any casualty or damage.
The Indian Meteorological Centre in Shillong is yet to give the exact intensity of the earthquake on the Richter Scale, sources said.
The epicentre of the quake was located at Majuli island in upper Assam. Tremors were also felt in parts of lower Assam, officials said.
A report from Imphal said that mild tremor was also felt in Manipur.
It shook parts of the state at 9.45 am, official sources said.
There was no report any damage, sources said.
