Srinagar: A police officer and his security guard were shot at and injured by militants in Batmaloo area of the Srinagar on Tuesday night, police said.
The militants attacked Inspector Nazir Ahmed Teli, Station House Officer (SHO) of Batmaloo police station, at Rekka Chowk at around 7.15 pm, resulting in injuries to him and his security guard. The injured police personnel have been shifted to hospital.
Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation for the militants.
