Imphal:
Unidentified militants attacked the private house of Manipur Agriculture and Social Welfare Minister N Loken by hurling two grenades that failed to explode, official sources said on Monday.
Sources said the militants lobbed the grenades at Loken's house at Leimapokpam area under Nambol police station in Bishenpur district on Saturday night.
Loken and his family members stay at the official residence at Babupara VIP area in Imphal, sources said adding that minister was not present at his private house at the time of the incident.
Police bomb experts removed the grenades on Sunday morning and defused it, sources said. Motive behind the crime was not yet known.
No individual or group has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
