Amritsar continued to remain the coldest place in Punjab and Haryana, registering a low of 4.2 degree celsius, up by one degree above normal, whereas Chandigarh registered its low of 10.2 degree Celsius, five notches above normal, as per MeT department report.
Minimum temperatures in Ludhiana and Patiala settled at 8.9 deg Celsius and 10.7 degree Celsius respectively, rising by up to five notches above normal.
In neighbouring Haryana, Ambala and Hisar registered their minimum at 11.8 degree celsius and 11.1 degree Celsius, going up by upto six notches above normal.
Karnal and Narnaul braved cold weather at 9 degree Celsius each, rising by up to four notches above normal.
