Union minister and Apna dal leader Anupriya Patel today said her convoy was attacked and the group who attacked her convoy also misbehave with her.
The incident, the minister said, took place during a roadshow in Uttar Pradesh's Pratapgarh.
The police said the roadshow came face to face with supporters of a local leader Vinod Dubey, who is planning to contest the state Assembly polls as an Independent candidate, leading to an argument.
The Union minister said the incident was a "conspiracy" to disturb her party's procession.
"I think it was a conspiracy. I was not provided with security and even after complaining, the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police did not reach the spot immediately," Ms Patel said.
Taking a jibe at the law and order situation in UP, she said if such was the efficacy of the law enforcement agencies, then "one could easily understand the plight of common people regarding law and order matters".
Alleging misbehaviour with their leaders, Apna Dal workers created traffic jam on Raebareli-Varanasi highway.
