Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi launched new Hindi website and updated the English portal of the Ministry.
New Delhi:
Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs (Independent Charge) Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Wednesday launched new Hindi website and updated and revamped English portal of the Ministry.
"The ministry is committed to serve people through all means which also include use of technology, social media and others. This is a part of our efforts to reach out to the common man at large scale," he said at the launch.
The revamped website has details of the Ministry's welfare schemes. It has photo gallery, video gallery, press and newspaper releases as added features.
It also has links with social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube and is also adaptive to devices such as iPads and mobiles, Mr Naqvi said.
Besides, the website has links to other government sites like MyGov, PM-India, national portal, GoI web directory, PMNRF, PG portal, national scholarship portal, etc for easy navigation.
The ministry has also made feedback mechanism available in the website through which citizens may submit their views about its schemes/programmes directly.
Mr Naqvi suggested the ministry officials to add new features from time to time based on feedback and suggestions from the users.
He said the ministry is planning to come out with a mobile application to help students from minority communities in applying for scholarships through cell phones.
