New Delhi: The Interpol has issued a Red Corner Notice or an international arrest warrant against Fasih Mohammed, an engineer from Bihar, whose family says he has gone missing from Saudi Arabia, where he had been working for the last five years.
Mr Mohammed's wife (they married eight months ago) has filed a case against the Indian government in the Supreme Court. Nikhat Parveen says that her husband was collected from their home on May 13 by Indian intelligence officials who said he was a terror suspect wanted for blasts in Karnataka and Delhi. The Supreme Court has asked the government to respond to her allegations on Friday.
In New Delhi, Home Minister P Chidambaram said Mr Mohammed "is not in the custody of any security force in India and I am afraid that speculative reports which continue to say so are wrong and unfortunate."
The CBI had approached the Interpol at the request of the Delhi and Karnataka police to help locate Mr Mohammed, who is 28. The police in both states believe he is linked to blasts outside Bangalore's Chinnaswamy Stadium and Delhi's Jamia Masjid in 2010.
The Interpol headquarters in Lyon, France issued the red-corner notice against him for offences of terrorism and crimes involving the use of weapons and explosives, according to the agency's website.
