Missing explosives case: Prime accused surrenders in Bhopal
Bhopal: After being on the run for over a month, Jaikishan Aswani, the prime accused in missing explosives case has finally surrendered to the police.

The police believe, this arrest can help unravel the mystery of the missing 163 trucks carrying explosives that never reached their destination.

Aswani owned two explosives trading companies in Sagar and Chanderi. Though his licence was revoked in March this year, he's alleged to have ordered a huge consignment of explosives from a government factory in Dholpur, Rajasthan.

The big question that the police are wanting answer for is where were the trucks diverted to and who actually got the explosives?

They are not ruling out possibilie involvement of the employees of Dholpur factory as well.

However, two of Aswani's accomplices, Shivcharan Hedha and his wife Deepa Hedha, owners of Ajay explosives in Rajgarh district where some of the trucks were diverted, are still at large.

"Jaikishen Aswani surrendered at Baheriya police station. But so far he has not revealed anything. We are on the lookout for Shiv Charan Hedha. Once we trace him we will know what happened to the missing explosives," said Manoj Sen, Additional SP, Sagar.

But, the Madhya Pradesh Government that suspects the involvement of a bigger racket, wants the Centre to take over investigations.

"It's not only about one explosives factory at Dholpur. All factories supplying explosives should be investigated. It cannot be ruled out that some of the explosives could have reached wrong hands. Therefore, it is imperative that the Centre takes over the investigation," said Uma Shanker Gupta , Home Minister, Madhya Pradesh
