Jehanabad, Bihar: A 15-year-old boy, who went missing three days ago, was found dead with his head crushed in Bihar's Jehanabad district this morning. His hands and legs were tied and the body was burnt, in an alleged attempt to dispose the body. Two people have been arrested.
The teen, son of a mill owner in the adjoining Nalanda district, went missing on Sunday after he had gone to play cricket at 6 in the morning. The father later received a call from the child's phone.
"The person on the other side said I would have to pay money. I said I was willing to pay. I was even made to speak to my son. But then the phone was switched off and there was no further contact," said Niranjan Prasad.
The police have said that the alleged kidnapper was known to the boy, adding that the arrest of the two men led them to the body. "Three people were involved in the kidnapping, 2 have been arrested, one is absconding. The boy was killed on the first day itself. Unfortunate we couldn't save him," said Shalin, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Patna.
