New Delhi:
Senior BJP leader and Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Murli Manohar Joshi, has lashed out at the government for promoting corruption.
Addressing a press conference today, Mr Joshi said, "The government must now clarify their stand, as the matter is in public domain."
"The government should clarify why the Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM) suddenly raised oil prices, and under whose pressure did the EGoM take such decisions? What is the justification for the import-export formula that you have devised for oil? What is the rationale behind it?" Mr Joshi said.
He also slammed Home Minister P Chidambaram saying, "The Finance Minister at that time was Chidambaram. When he was at that portfolio, so many corruption issues came up. Now when he is the Home Minister, so many more issues with Pakistan are coming to the forefront."
I strongly demand Chidambaram be removed from Cabinet, he said.
Mr Joshi reiterated that though many questions are being raised, the BJP will continue to fight against corruption nationwide.
