Mob of women kill a woman in Andhra

Warangal:

A mob of women in Andhra Pradesh got together and attacked a 28-year-old woman in public, pulled her hair, kicked her. The woman died of the injuries on Monday.

The reason for taking the law into their own hands is apparently because the woman was rumoured to be having an affair with the husband of one of the women.

Radha was pulled out of her home at Vemulawada in Karimnagar district of Andhra Pradesh last Tuesday. The women attacked her because Balaiah, the husband of a woman Laxmi, had allegedly moved in with Radha.

"I pulled her out of her house by her hair and beat her to teach her a lesson," said Laxmi.

Accused of adultery, Balaiah got a mouthful while Radha was brutally attacked. She was shifted to hospital soon after. On Monday, Radha died at MGM Hospital in Warangal.

"There are nine accused in this case. Seven have been arrested," said Ashok, DSP, Vemulawada.

Radha's husband is reportedly away in Muscat. She got married nine years ago. The police had registered a case of attempt to murder. That has now become a murder case.
