Gomti Nagar, Lucknow:
An angry mob set fire to a truck after it crushed a small child in the Makdoompur area of Gomti Nagar in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The mob also pelted stones on vehicles crossing that area.
There was no firing, not even tear gas shells. But the police had to resort to baton charge to control the crowd.
ADG, Law and Order, A K Jain, says the mob has been pacified and a criminal case has been registered against the driver of the truck in Gomti Nagar police station.
The local administration has promised action against the driver.
10 fire tenders have also reached the spot to douse the fire.
