There is some good news coming in as monsoon has advanced into some more areas of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday.
After 12 days of being stationery over central Madhya Pradesh, it has moved to some areas in north Madhya Pradesh.
The rainfall graph has been fluctuating since the last few days. It is showing a downward trend, but this could be temporary, as we will have to wait till the monsoon picks up. The monsoon continues to be in a lean phase currently.
From June 1 till today, the country as a whole should have received 163.5mm of rain, but has received only 137.5mm. So, the monsoon now is 16 per cent deficient.
Figure remains unchanged for Central lndia and the North-East at -26 and -17 percent respectively. In southern peninsula the monsoon has delivered five per cent excess rain. It is 18 per cent deficient in North West India.
