Monsoon Session Of Parliament - Day 5: Highlights

The fourth day of the monsoon session of Parliament saw a fierce debate on atrocities against Dalits. Opposition parties put pressure on the government to pursue cases against atrocities on Dalits in Gujarat's Una, as well as against Dayashankar Singh, who used derogatory language against BSP chief Mayawati. Parliament also debated the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Home Minister Rajnath Singh gave a statement and acknowledged that the government will consider alternatives to the use of pellet guns.
