Five Congress MLAs were sworn-in as Ministers of State in Mamata Banerjee's government on Friday, taking the strength of the government to 43, one short of the sanctioned strength of 44.
The five, sworn-in by Governor M K Narayanan, were Pramathanath Roy, Manoj Chakraborti, Abu Naser Khan Chowdhury, Sunil Chandra Tirkey and Sabina Yasmin.
The Congress already has two Cabinet ministers - Manas Bhunia and Abu Hena.
Banerjee, WBPCC president Bhunia, Union minister of state Saugata Roy and Leader of the Opposition Suryakanta Mishra were present during the ceremony.
