Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who died at a Delhi hospital today, will be laid to rest in his ancestral town of Bijbehara later in the day.
"Mufti Sahib will be buried at his ancestral graveyard at Bijbehara today," said Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) general secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir.
According to PDP sources, the mortal remains of the Chief Minister will be flown in from Delhi this afternoon and taken to his Gupkar residence for allowing the party workers and general public to pay their last respects.
The body will be later taken to Bijbehara town, 41 kilometres from Srinagar, in south Kashmir's Anantnag district for burial, the sources said.
