Kolkata: Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha lawmaker Mukul Roy is unlikely to be questioned again in Saradha scam or named as an accused, according to Sthe pecial Crime Branch of CBI probing the case.

"We are neither concerned about Mukul Roy nor do we have any plans of calling him again for interrogation or naming him as an accused in the case," a CBI source told PTI.

Mr Roy was earlier summoned by the CBI for questioning on January 30 for the first time this year. His questioning feulled speculations that he may be arrested by the agency just like happened in the case of West Bengal cabinet minister Madan Mitra, who is in jail custody seeking bail. Mr Mitra was indentified as a 'key conspirator' in the Saradha scam case.

Mr Roy after the interrogation, had told reporters that he would be fully cooperate with the CBI if called again and said "the actual truth should come out".

Subsequently Mr Roy, a key organiser of the Trinamool Congress, was stripped of the post of All-India general secretary and other positions that he held in his capacity. But his membership with the party continued.

So far, CBI has filed several chargesheets in the case indicting Mitra and others including Saradha owner Sudipto Sen, suspended Trinamool Rajya Sabha lawmaker Kunal Ghosh.
