Etawah, UP: Seeking to downplay the resignation of his lieutenant Amar Singh from key party posts on Wednesday, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav claimed he had no differences with Singh.
Terming the resignation as an "internal matter" of the party, Yadav said the issue will be discussed in the Parliamentary Board and executive committee.
"He has resigned only from the post of general secretary and not from the party," Yadav said, reacting to Singh's announcement that he had quit all party posts - general secretary, spokesperson and member of party's Parliamentary Board. (Read & Watch: Amar Singh quits Samajwadi Party posts)
Yadav denied that there were any differences between him and Singh. "There is no such thing. I spoke to him only a couple of days back," he said when asked whether any differences had resulted in the step taken by the 53-year old leader, who was considered his right hand man.
Asked whether he would persuade Singh to take back his resignation, Yadav said, "We don't share such a relationship."
He said Singh's resignation from key posts will be discussed in the Parliamentary Board and Executive Committee of the party. He, however, did not give any time frame.
"It is an internal matter of our party and you (media) should not be concerned about it," Yadav said.
