Mumbai blasts: Man whose head was severed has been identified
Mumbai: One of the grizzliest aspects of the Mumbai blasts was the discovery of a severed head. A family has undergone the excruciating procedure of identifying this victim. His name was Kishan Shivcharan Mandal.

Seventeen people were killed in Wednesday's terror attack - three bombs within 12 minutes at Zaveri Bazaar, Dadar and Opera House. Mr Mandal was killed at Zaveri Bazaar.

His family visited JJ Hospital, where several of those killed or injured on Wednesday evening were rushed for treatment.

On Thursday morning, Home minister P Chidambaram shared the grim news that a head had been found. Through the day, there were reports that this pointed to the possible involvement of a suicide bomber. However, investigators said this seemed unlikely because the three bombs used had been trigged by cellphones, which contradicted the suggestion of a human bomb.
