Mumbai gears up for Obama visit

Mumbai: Although the Mumbai police claim to have not got the fixed date for President Barack Obama's visit. This is what Mumbai will have to endure when the President comes calling.

Top hotel rooms have been booked across the city: 570 rooms in Taj Mahal Palace, 125 rooms in Taj President and 90 rooms each in The Oberoi/The Grand Hyatt/ITC Grand Maratha.

His aircraft Airforce One will be followed by two Jumbo Jets. He will travel in a Cadillac car (brought in with him and fitted with advanced security equipment.)

Around 150 staff members will accompany him who will stay at the ITC Grand Maratha Hotel.

The President will travel in a convoy of 45 cars. An Indian Navy team will be a part of the convoy.

American Navy will be stationed at the Taj on 5th November and will be conducting a surveillance of 330 nautical miles.

The American navy vessels equipped with fighter planes will be around.

The First Lady Michelle Obama is likely to visit Kamathipura - Mumbai's red light area on a special request made by an NGO.

Minister of State in Prime Minister's office Prithiviraj Chavan along with members of the Indian and American consulate will receive Obama, his wife and their delegation

They are going to be accompanied by a special chef.

The Taj Hotel and the NCPA have been completely booked for the business meetings.
