Mumbai-Pune cycle race completes 50 years

Mumbai: The Mumbai-Pune race, one of the longest running road cycle races in the country, completes its golden jubilee on January 13 when riders from all over the country would vie for the top honours.

The 152-km cycle race, with the ghat-section posing most difficult challenge, is a recognised event of the Cycling Federation of India, said a media release from organisers - Maharashtra Cycling Association and Rashtrawadi Congress Party.

The entries for the annual race, restricted to male riders between 18 and 35 years of age, close on January 9, it added.
