Mumbai:
Bollywood has made quite a splash in the past at the Cannes Film Festival.
But this time, an Indian documentary film is set to 'raise a stink' at the fest.
This year, Rat Race, a documentary on Mumbai's professional rat catchers, will compete against other documentaries from across the globe.
"We walked around in the night with these men. Sometimes they even walk barefoot because they are holding the rats in their hands and pushing more with their feet," says the filmmaker Mariam Chandi Chanseri.
"It says a lot of our civic sense...that we don't think twice about throwing our garbage out... that in turn attracts these rats from which these men make a living, Chanseri adds.
One might be tempted to believe that this is one job that has few takers, but this documentary drives home ugly facts about unemployment driving the youth to take up any and every job that comes their way.
