Mumbai:
After three days of being stuck at the Mumbai airport, the Turkish aircraft has finally been towed away from the airport's main runway.
The runway has become operational now. Heavy rain and gusty winds over the weekend had made it difficult for the authorities to tow the aircraft.
The aircraft skidded off the runway at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) on Friday and got stuck in the soft mud following heavy rains. All 104 passengers, including 11 crew members, were safely evacuated.
Normal operations at CSIA were severely hampered on Sunday morning as all normal flight operations had to be shifted to the secondary runway.
Turkish Airlines had attributed the incident to "excessive rainfall".
