During a twitter dust-up this morning, Union Minister Smriti Irani took a sharp dig at Rahul Gandhi, commenting that losing Assam is "his forte".
Ms Irani was in the middle of a nasty exchange with Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi when she referred to the Congress's state poll defeats last week. Ms Chaturvedi hit back with equal force. She had trended on twitter yesterday with her blog on NDTV on being threatened by trolls recently, but today's spat didn't suggest any restraint.
The fight began with Ms Chaturvedi reacting to a tweet targeting her.Smriti Irani joined the thread at that point, tweeting that she does not have Z category security. It started a back-and-forth between the two women that quickly turned acrid.In their parting shots, the two women wished each other 'good day' and 'glorious day' after trading the most acrimonious barbs.The Congress lost Assam to the BJP in a series of crushing state poll results that have led to party veterans suggesting "major surgery".
