Name and shame Pakistan before the world at large: BJP on Indian soldiers' killing

New Delhi: Condemning the brutal killing of two Indian soldiers by Pakistani troops, the BJP said today that the incident was a "warning to India" and asked the government to collect all evidence and place them before the international community so that Pakistan could be "named and shamed" before the world at large.

"It's an unprovoked act of aggression by Pakistan. This obviously is intended to disturb the environment of relationship between the two countries. The BJP strongly condemns this unprovoked attack," senior party leader Arun Jaitley told reporters, adding that brutality of the attack "shows the real design behind it."

"This attack is also a warning to India...a warning that in dealing with Pakistan it is extremely important that the government of India clearly defines the red lines. It will have to be very firm and cautious and very clear in how to deal with Pakistan," Mr Jaitley further said.

Two Indian soldiers - Lance Naik Hemraj and Lance Naik Sudhakar Singh - were killed early on Tuesday morning by Pakistani army troops who crossed into Indian territory along the Line of Control in Kashmir. According to senior army sources, the body of one of the jawans was decapitated; they added that the severed head is still missing.

India has summoned Pakistan's High Commissioner over the killing. Foreign Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid yesterday described the attack as "ghastly, inhuman and unacceptable."  Defence Minister AK Antony added this morning that "the way they treated the dead bodies of the Indian soldiers is inhuman. We will convey our protest to the Pakistan government."
