Nanavati Commission sends notice to Modi govt

Nanavati Commission sends notice to Modi govt
Gujarat: In a setback for Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, the Nanavati Commission, inquiring into the Gujarat riots of 2002, has asked the Chief Minister's Office to provide details of all phone conversations that happened from February 27 till the March 4, 2002 when Gujarat was burning.

The Modi government had rejected the phone conversation data that was submitted by the then DCP.

The Commission had then refused to accept the data. Now, three years after, the Commission has asked the Chief Minister's Office to re-submit the data.

Those were phone conversations that took place between politicians,  the police and bureaucrats working in the Chief Minister's Office during the Gujarat riots.
