Kolkata: In a veiled attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the BJP today alleged "so-called symbol of honesty has become symbol of corruption" and asked her why she has been "shying away" from conducting an investigation into the Narada sting operation.

"Why is the TMC and its chief Mamata Banerjee shying away from investigation now? Why aren't they calling for CBI investigation?" BJP national secretary Siddharth Nath Singh questioned.

Apparently targeting Ms Banerjee, Mr Singh alleged that the "so-called symbol of honesty has become symbol of corruption in Bengal" and reminded people that Ms Banerjee had resigned as railway minister after the Tehelka sting expose to attain a moral high ground.

The Narada sting operation showed several persons resembling Trinamool Congress leaders accepting money in return for favours.

The BJP today released its media campaign where it highlighted various issues - from women's security, Saradha scam to lack of employment in the state.
