Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has some fierce criticism to respond to. His big brother has publicly suggested he go to class to understand how to address people's problems.
Prahlad Modi is president of the Fair Price Shop Dealers' Association of Gujarat. On Wednesday, Prahlad attacked his sibling, Narendra, from whom he is estranged, at a meeting in Surat.
"The officials in the Secretariat are responsible for being indifferent to us...and the chief minister who is heading them is also indifferent. He goes by what his bureaucrats say. He should have better understanding of our issues...and should learn... and if need be he should attend classes on how to address people's problems."
The Association led by Prahlad is against the new biometric ration cards that are to be introduced soon by the government. That's because dealers have been asked to collect extensive documents for the new ration cards from applicants. Ration shop owners say this should not be their headache.
They also accuse the government of taking far too long to allocate the food grain due to them. But Gujarat government sources say that there has been no delay on their part.
However, the government sources say that the dealers are protesting against the biometric cards only because it will check corruption.
