National Conference Worker Shot Dead in Kashmir

Srinagar: Separatist guerrillas shot dead a worker of the ruling National Conference party in Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, police said.

The motorcycle-riding militants fired at Mohd. Lateef Gupkari in the old city area of Nawatta, critically injuring him.

"He was immediately taken to Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences. Doctors tried to revive him but he died of his injuries," police told IANS.
