Islamabad: Rejecting India's charge of repeated ceasefire violations, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif accused the Indian Army of "unprovoked firing" terming it as "naked aggression".
He said firing by the Indian Army across the Line of Control had resulted in the death of four civilians and three soldiers.
India on Wednesday launched a massive counter-offensive, a day after a soldier was beheaded and two others were killed in Jammu and Kashmir's Machil sector in an attack believed to be carried out by Pakistan Army's Border Action Team.
In a statement, Mr Sharif "condemned the Indian firing across the Line of Control (LoC)" and also paid tribute to the Pakistani soldiers killed in a firing incident across the LoC as tension mounted between the two countries after heavy exchanges.
Mr Sharif said India had failed to comprehend the gravity of the situation despite Pakistan's exercise of "maximum restraint".
Mr Sharif went on to accuse India of trying to divert the attention from the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, and said that Pakistan would never abandon Kashmir and will "continue to support the struggle".
