Nawazuddin Siddiqui Once Danced At Weddings. His Reward Was Rs 2

New Delhi: Nawazuddin Siddiqui said that dance was not his strong point but when he was young, Nawazuddin and his friends danced in the baaraats to collect the money thrown at the baaraatis, reports news agency PTI. Nawazuddin Siddiqui has a few dance sequences in Sabbir Khan's Munna Michael, in which he plays the role of a conniving event organiser. "As a kid I used to often dance at weddings with my friends. I along with my friends used to attend all of the weddings in our area and collect money. By the end of the day we used to manage to collect Rs 2-3 and that was too much for us that time," Nawazuddin told PTI.

Fast-forward to 2017, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is all set to dance onscreen in the film starring Tiger Shroff, who plays the titular Munna Michael. Nawazuddin said that initially he was not convinced if he could do justice to the role but he eventually gave in and put his faith in Sabbir Khan. Nawazuddin also added that choreographer Ganesh Acharya can 'make everyone dance.' He told PTI: "To do a dance step, one should be mentally ready as it is then that the body reacts automatically."

 

Tiger Shroff plays the role of a street dancer who can copy Michael Jackson's dance moves with ease (the second part is true for Tiger Shroff off screen too). But not so much for Nawazuddin Siddqui, who still cannot do MJ's famous moon walk. "I used to get mesmerised seeing his dance especially moon walk. Unfortunately I haven't learnt it (moon walk) yet but there is a wish to learn it," Nawazuddin told PTI. PS: Nawazuddin did try dancing like MJ in a sequence in Raees, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan.

 

Munna Michael also stars newcomer Nidhhi Agerwal and is slated to release on July 21.
