Police say the arrested men could have been looking to raise funds for Naxals.

Noida: The anti-terrorism squad of the Uttar Pradesh Police says it has busted a Naxal module in the national capital region with the detention of nine people suspected of having links with Naxal outfits in Jharkhand.

The detention comes after raids yesterday evening and all through the night at an apartment in Noida's Sector 49. The UP police says seven weapons and 88 rounds of live cartridges have been recovered from the flat where these men were living.

One of the weapons was an INSAS rifle which could have been stolen from security forces, police said.

Those arrested are originally from Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. The police says the motive of these men being in the NCR could be to rob an ATM raise funds or even to plant explosives at some locations. The interrogation of these men is on.
