Baster, Chhattisgarh:
On Saturday morning, Naxals attacked two sons of the Baliram Kashyap, Member of Parliament from Baster.
The MP's sons had gone to Jagdalpur district for Durga Puja. On Saturday at 11 am, when they were offering prayers at their village of Bedaguda, they were attacked by six Naxals.
Both men, Tansen and Dinesh, were shot from a very close range. Tansen was killed on the spot while Dinesh got seriously injured. He is currently fighting for his life in a hospital.
"I saw four people running. He was shot at his back, head and in his arm," said Manglu, an eyewitness.
One of Naxals was arrested while the rest managed to escape.
The attack comes just a day after Home Minister P Chidambaram visited Chhattisgarh to assess the Naxal situation.
The police say till September 25, 255 security personnel and 216 Maoists have been killed across the Naxal-hit states.
