Sukma, Chhattisgarh: Security forces were locked in a gunbattle with Naxals in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Sunday. Some reports said three Naxals were killed but officials were yet to confirm.
The encounter took place near Kaligudam village between the rebels and a joint team of the Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh police.
Naxals are known to be active in Sukma. In April last year, they had abducted the district's collector from a village meeting. He was freed after nearly two weeks in captivity.
