Pune: NCP chief Sharad Pawar was admitted to a private hospital in Pune this evening for 'minor kidney problem' and 'water retention,' hospital authorities said.
"He (Pawar) just had minor kidney problem and water retention. However, he is doing absolutely fine," said Dr Parvez Grant, managing trustee and chief cardiologist of Ruby Hall clinic, where the Maratha strongman is admitted.
According to Dr Grant, there is nothing to worry and a team of doctors has been pressed in for observation.
"Pawar will be here for next two to three days," he added.
Senior NCP leader and spokesperson Ankush Kakde said, "Due to constant tours in the state, he (Pawar) complained of fatigue (and) so he was admitted to the hospital for routine check-up and after the check-up, doctors have informed that he is doing well."
