Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had a half-hour meeting with Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar Thursday evening. The meeting is the first since Mr Shinde became Chief Minister after the Maha Vikas Aghadi government collapsed last year. It set off much speculation, as the agenda was unclear.
Mr Pawar later tweeted that he had met the Chief Minister to invite him for a programme on the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav anniversary of Mumbai's Maratha Mandir.
They also discussed organising a meeting to know the problems of artistes from Marathi film, theater and art sector.
A meeting will be held with them, and the matter was discussed with the Chief Minister, Mr Pawar said in his Marathi post.
