NDA's Buxar rally: Advantage Nitish

NDA's Buxar rally: Advantage Nitish
Buxar:

BJP's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani was campaigning in Buxar on Friday, to show his support to the JD(U) while promising special status to the state and gaining support for the BJP candidate there, Lalmuni Choubey.

"Apart from Advaniji, India has only two other leaders who are prime ministerial material. One is Nitish Kumar in Bihar, and the other is Narendra Modi in Gujarat," said Lalmuni Choubey, BJP candidate, Buxar.

In a state where the JD(U) is desperately trying to woo the Muslim voter, a comparison with Narendra Modi must have caused discomfort to Nitish Kumar.

L K Advani was quick to step in and save face.

"Over the last three years Nitish has outperformed even my own party's Chief Ministers," Advani said.

Nitish Kumar has always publicly disapproved of Narendra Modi. But then recently, he hinted a post-poll alliance with the UPA is not off the cards.

The rally in Buxar was crucial for Advani to showcase that BJP and JD(U) are very much together. Clearly, it is advantage Nitish.

"If Advani becomes the PM, he must give special status to Bihar," Nitish said in the rally.

And the BJP's prime ministerial candidate was quick to reply assuring the Bihar Chief Minister that his state will get special attention.
