A new bus service has been started between India and Nepal has been started.
The bus service-- 'Janrath'-- started on Sunday. It will operate from New Delhi via Banbasa in Champawat district of Uttarakhand to Mahendra Nagar bordering town of Kanchanpur district of Nepal.
"The bus service started from December 26 from New Delhi. It has been named 'Janrath' and the number of buses will be increased if the passengers from both side gets increased," said an Uttar Pradesh roadway officer.
According to sources at Indian border post at Banbasa, the Uttar Pradesh roadways bus from Sahibabad bus stand near Delhi, with 19 Nepalese passengers on board, reached at border bridge at Banbasa on Monday morning.
"It returned with 44 Nepalese passengers for Delhi in the evening," said BM Upreti, in-charge of Indian police post at the barrage.
