A 'nikah' was solemnized in Muzaffarnagar through Internet after the bridegroom failed to reach for the ceremony on time from Saudi Arabia.
Using the modern technology, Anjum Ara, a resident of Sujru village near here married Jazim Ali, who failed to reach India for his wedding yesterday, a cleric Mehboob Azi, who performed the nikah for the couple, said.
The bridegroom, Ali, is currently living in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.
As Ali could not reach here on scheduled date, his parents, the residents of Cuarthiawal town, in consent with the bride's parents decided to use the cyber technology to solemnise the marriage, family sources said.
The rituals were performed by the cleric after taking acceptance of the newly weds, they said.
