Goa government has incurred a "zero expenditure" so far on fighting a case against former Tehelka founder-editor Tarun Tejpal who is facing the rape charge.
In a written reply tabled on the floor of the House, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said, "Nil as on date".
The question on the expenditure incurred to fight case against Tejpal was tabled by Congress legislator Jeniffer Monserratte.
The state government has mentioned names of lawyers, including senior special prosecutor Saresh Lotlikar, special public prosecutor Francisco Tavora, senior counsel Mukul Rohatgi and Additional Solicitor General of India Neeraj Kishan Kaul, who are empanelled to fight the case.
Tejpal was arrested for allegedly raping his woman colleague during an event in Goa in 2013, and is currently out on bail.
