Silchar (Assam): A nine-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by two unidentified persons in Assam's Cachar district, police said today.
The nine-year-old was walking on Sunday evening to her grand-father's house when she was kidnapped by two people with their faces covered, the police said.
The girl was allegedly gang-raped at a tea estate before being abandoned.
Tea garden workers found her and rushed her to hospital.
Injury marks have been found on her neck and the police suspect that her abductors tried to kill her.
A massive search operation has been launched to nab the rapists, who are absconding, police added.
