No conclusion in Shanno's death: MCD
New Delhi: The MCD has said it is yet to reach a conclusion in its probe into the death of a girl allegedly due to corporal punishment at a school run it.

"The civic body has not concluded its probe into the incident. We have not given any clean chit to anyone," MCD spokesperson Deep Mathur said.

Asked whether the Education Department has submitted its report, he said no report has been submitted.

Shanno Khan breathed her last at a hospital after being allegedly meted out corporal punishment by a teacher Manju.

Manju allegedly made the girl stand in sun for two hours with bricks on her shoulders. She denied the allegations.

"The Vigilance Department is probing the incident. The findings of the Education Department will be incorporated in the final probe," he said dismissing reports that the civic body has given a clean chit to the teacher.

The Vigilance Department could not conclude its probe into the the death of the 11-year-old Class II student as it could not record the statements of other students of the school.

The MCD had ordered a departmental inquiry by the Director (Primary Education) after the incident. Following the death of the girl, it had asked its Vigilance Department to conduct an inquiry. The principal of the school and the accused teacher remain under suspension.
