New Delhi:
The new Chief Vigilance Commissioner (CVC), PJ Thomas, has spoken for the first time since his appointment, as the top watchdog sparked off a political controversy.
Speaking to NDTV, PJ Thomas denied any conflict of interest involved in his new job.
The BJP has alleged that Thomas, a former telecom secretary, was made the CVC mainly to cover up the 2G scam, but Thomas told NDTV the job of a secretary and the CVC chief were clearly defined and he would abide by the statute and the Constitution of India.
He also said he would work towards fighting corruption and despite the personal attacks, he would uphold the constitution and the statutory office he holds.
