Jaipur: Rajasthan Energy Minister Pushpendra Singh today said there would be no power cuts during night in the state beginning this evening.
During Zero Hour in the state Assembly, BJP MLA Goverdhan Verma raised the issue of erratic power supply in his assembly constituency Dhod where students were the worst sufferers.
Responding to it, the Minister said due to inclement weather and rains and hailstorm recently, power consumption had reduced drastically.
A few generation units at Suratgarh, Chabra and other thermal power stations were stopped due to poor consumption, he said.
With demand rising for power supply, most power units began generation of 1,160 MW, and others would soon start generation to maintain supply and demand ratio, he said.
