Lucknow: There was no respite from the cold wave conditions in Uttar Pradesh, regional Met office said today.

While there were no chances of rains, a weather official said cold icy winds and dense fog will continue to add to the winter chill.

The maximum temperature settled at 13.1 degrees Celsius in Lucknow on Friday, 10 degrees below the season's average while the minimum temperature was recorded at 8.5 degrees Celsius.

The Regional Met office said there were very dull chances of the weather to improve and that the cold wave would intensify in the eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh.

There were death reports in some parts of the state due to cold but the state government has not confirmed the casualties as those were due to the inclement weather.

Orders have been issued by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to ensure that there were no deaths due to the cold wave owing to lack of warm clothing, night shelters and bonfires.
