Noida:
A teacher at a school in Noida says he was hit with an iron rod after he failed a student who was caught cheating in an exam. Ajay Kumar says he has received six stitches above his eye as a result of the assault.
The principal of Lord Mahavir School, PK Jain, says that the day the student was caught cheating, he returned to school with his father who requested that the student not be failed. The principal reportedly said this was not possible. The student then returned after-hours alone, and saw his teacher sitting alone in a class room. He allegedly grabbed an iron rod and hit him.
The police has registered a case against the student who is missing.
His parents have refused to speak to the media.
