Chandigarh: The process of filing nomination papers of all the wards of 21 Zila Parishads in Haryana would start from tomorrow and continue till 29 December, State Election Commissioner Rajeev Sharma said today.
The timings have been fixed from 10 am to 3 pm. Their block-wise elections would be held on January 10, 17 and 24, 2016, MR Sharma said.
While giving this information in Chandigarh, Mr Sharma said that phase wise time schedule is not possible in the case of election of the seat of Member Zila Parishad, as the jurisdiction of several wards of Zila Parishads falls within the jurisdiction of two or more than two blocks.
Therefore, a decision to this effect has been taken. Mr Sharma said that in view of the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, afresh process for the reservation by way of draw of lot is to be conducted in Block Hassanpur of district Palwal, which requires some time.
Therefore, the poll of this block is to be held in third phase of the Panchayat General Elections 2015.
He said that IAS and HCS officers have been appointed as Election Observers in all districts of the state in order to conduct the 5th Panchayat General Elections, 2015 in a free, fair and transparent manner.
